كتاب استثنائي يضم مجموعة من القصص التي كتبها أطفال من غزة بأقلامهم خلال الحرب، في محاولة للتشبث بالحياة وحفظ الذاكرة ومقاومة النسيان بالكلمات.

بين الخيام، ومراكز الإيواء، وطوابير الماء والخبز، كتب أطفال تتراوح أعمارهم بين 8 و16 عاماً عن الخوف والجوع والنزوح وفقدان الأحبة، لكنهم كتبوا أيضاً عن الأمل والصداقة والأحلام الصغيرة التي ظلت تقاوم وسط الركام.

لا يقدم هذا الكتاب رواية عن الحرب بقدر ما يقدم أصوات الأطفال الذين عاشوها بأنفسهم. هنا لا يتحدث المراسلون ولا السياسيون، بل أطفال يروون ما رأوه وما فقدوه وما يتمنون أن يبقى من عالمهم.

يضم الكتاب القصص الفائزة في مسابقة «قصص أطفال غزة»، إلى جانب صور ووثائق توثق تجربة الكتابة نفسها في ظروف الحرب والنزوح.

هنا كان بيتنا ليس كتاباً للأطفال فقط، بل شهادة إنسانية نادرة تتيح للقارئ الاقتراب من التجربة الفلسطينية من منظور أكثر صدقاً وبراءة وإنسانية.

Here Was Our Home is an extraordinary collection of stories written by children in Gaza during the war. Created under unimaginable circumstances, these stories are acts of memory, resilience, and hope, preserving voices that refused to be silenced.
Written by children between the ages of 8 and 16, the book captures their experiences of displacement, loss, hunger, fear, and survival. Yet alongside these realities, the stories also reveal friendship, imagination, courage, and the enduring power of dreams.
Rather than offering an outside account of war, this collection allows children to speak for themselves. These are not reports or statistics; they are personal testimonies told in the words of those who lived through the events.
The volume includes the winning entries from the Gaza Children’s Story Competition, as well as photographs and documentation of the writing project that brought these young voices together during a time of crisis.
Here Was Our Home is more than a book for young readers. It is a rare and moving human document that invites readers of all ages to encounter the Palestinian experience through the honesty, vulnerability, and imagination of children.
